Sports Partnership Challenge Us to Stay Active

High Quality Logo

Despite school closures, the Three Rivers and Watford Schools Sports Partnership (TRWSSP) are continuing to support schools in encouraging pupils (and adults) to stay active.

The different challenges they have created can be done with little or no equipment and completed inside or out.

Virtual Challenge – Competition or Just for Fun

Weekly challenges will help to encourage children from KS1 and KS2 to improve their performance in fundamental movement skills. It also asks them to show determination and self-belief as they practice to improve and challenge themselves to do better.

The virtual challenges will be uploaded via the School Sports Partnership (SSP) Twitter @TRW_SSP at the beginning of each week starting Monday 23rd March. Information will be provided on how to set up and complete each challenge. Children will be encouraged to achieve a personal best by the end of the week.

It would be great if as many of us could take part in this.

The SSP are asking children to tweet @TRW_SSP and school their scores and pictures of them completing the challenges using the hashtags  #TRWSSPVirtualChallenge and #SGChallenge

There is also a Google form on the SSP website where parents can upload pupils challenge scores as an alternative to Twitter.

The SSP team will then collate the results and reveal the top performances across the partnership at the beginning of the following week via Twitter and email. Certificates will then be sent out to schools which we will forward onto pupils.

Please be aware that if they receive pupil names for the competition scores via Twitter or the Google Form on their website, this will act as consent to reveal results across the Partnership.

Just for Fun

Alternatively, children can have a go at all challenges just for fun and there is no need to submit results – after all it’s about personal challenge too.

‘Stay Active’ Activity Cards

Within the Personal Challenge tab on the SSP website you will find ideas and videos, and links to The Body Coach workouts, as well as links to the ‘Stay Active’ Activity Cards to use at home.
