Severe Weather Plan

It is always our intention to open the school as long as it is safe to do so and we have enough available staff. A decision to close the school would never be taken lightly.

Hertfordshire County Council introduced the Everbridge system last year for school closure notification and we encourage all parents to ensure they have signed up or checked their logins from last year still work.

Each contact can register up to 2 devices for each communication type (SMS and e-mail). If you have children at more than one school you can register for each school in a single registration process by selecting all schools your children attend. Once registered, you will receive messages relating to the status of your school/schools.

In the event of severe weather, a notice will be posted on the Everbridge system to let you know if a decision has been taken to close the school as early as possible. We will also post a message on this website as well as sending out a message via the Gateway.

Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing a coat and ideally brings a scarf and gloves (all clearly labelled). We do aim to get the children out in the fresh air every day so it is important that they are warmly dressed.
